Antiques – Original Painted Sign
A classic piece of traditional signwriting, ANTIQUES has been hand-painted by Joby using timeless techniques and a carefully balanced colour palette to create a sign full of character and depth. Whether it takes pride of place in an antiques shop, vintage business, home workshop or collection, it’s a striking piece that celebrates the craft of hand lettering.
Painted on aluminium composite panel, the sign features a rich textured background framed with a traditional English liner. The lettering is in French Blue with a lighter blue top, while Dodgem Blue dots and drops add extra detail and movement. A Toytown Grey stepped-away block gives the lettering depth, with unusual maroon highlights beneath creating a subtle shadow effect. Crisp white highlights along the edges complete the illusion of light catching each letter, bringing the whole piece to life.
Like all of Joby’s original signs, this is a genuine one-off, painted by hand in the workshop using traditional signwriting techniques rather than vinyl or digital printing.
