These new and exclusive sable outlining brushes are an absolute dream for painting fine lines around lettering, scrollwork and fairground art. They are made from the longest sable hair that can practically be used, giving you an exceptional paint-holding capacity while still delivering the smooth, controlled line that only sable can provide.
Many of you will already know and love Joby’s 308 Long Handled Liner Brushes. Those are longer and carry plenty of paint, but because of their length they have to be made from ox hair. These new brushes offer a more refined feel, with the soft, finer qualities that make sable such a premium material to paint with.
When the first sample arrived, Joby couldn’t wait to try it out. After a few strokes he knew he’d found exactly what he was looking for. The brush flowed beautifully, held consistent line and felt effortless to use.

Materials
The brushes are handmade in England from 100% pure Kolinsky sable and set in seamless nickel-plated ferrules on black polished handles.
Which signwriting brush is right for you?
Signwriting brushes come in different widths and are numbered to denote the size. The bigger the number, the bigger the width of the line you can create with them. If you want thin lines and thinner letters, you’ll need a thinner brush.

Looking after your brushes
We recommend using brush grease after thoroughly cleaning your brushes to make your brushes last longer and keep them in top condition for when you next need them.
