Charcoal
Charcoal is used by Joby to transfer designs from paper sketches to a signwriting surface or panel. Simply apply to the rear of your design and then re-draw your design to mark it out on the panel you are painting. Charcoal is more suitable for a one off if you don’t want to go to the trouble of pouncing.
The intense blackness of natural willow charcoal makes it ideal for fine detailed drawing and has been used by artists for centuries.
Joby advises that the black can sometimes bleed into lighter colours, but if you are second coating it won’t be a problem.
Materials
Each box contains 25 sticks of medium sized willow charcoal, each stick measures approx. 4-6mm in diameter. The charcoal is 100% natural and is grown locally to Joby’s workshop on the Somerset Levels.
