A Joby Carter Original Design: This lettering was hand painted by Joby in his workshop during the pandemic using traditional signwriting techniques and it was then photographed to enable the design to be printed on the mug.
This is a Joby Carter style of hand painted lettering which is inspired by lettering from the Victorian age which has been popular with traditional signwriters through the decades since.
This lettering is the early beginnings of a style of lettering known by Joby as ‘Tuscan Curveside’ which he created a full reference alphabet of in his second book All the Fonts of the Fair.
