Description

A good lining brush is a really useful part of any traditional signwriter’s toolbox. Joby uses liners for painting long, flowing lines freehand – perfect for adding borders, embellishments and decorative details without reaching for masking tape.

These English Liner Brushes have been made to Joby’s own specification, with shorter handles for easier handling and control. Handmade in England from ox hair and set into synthetic quills, they’re designed specifically for traditional lining and decorative work.

The bigger the brush number, the wider the line you can create, allowing you to choose the right brush for the scale of your work. Whether you’re adding a simple line around a sign or getting stuck into traditional decorative work, learning to paint a clean line freehand is a skill well worth mastering.

The brushes are available individually in sizes 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11, or you can choose from two useful sets:

Small Liner Set – Sizes 1, 3, 4 & 6
Four smaller lining brushes, ideal for finer lines and decorative details.

Large Liner Set – Sizes 7, 9, 10 & 11
Four larger lining brushes for creating broader, bolder lines.

Looking after your brushes

Joby recommends thoroughly cleaning your lining brushes after use and applying brush grease before storing them. This helps protect the hair, keep the brushes in good condition and get as much life from them as possible.

All orders not containing paint have a standard postage fee of £4.95 within the UK.
