Super Mum Art Print

This is a striking fine art print of hand painted lettering which was designed and painted by Joby Carter in his White Waltham workshop using traditional signwriting techniques: There are no computers or modern shortcuts used in Joby’s signwriting workshop, he lets the brush do the work.

Once complete, Joby’s artwork was then professionally scanned and giclee printed on museum grade fine art paper (310 GSM) using lightfast inks, ready for you to display on your walls at home.

This print has not been digitally airbrushed and you may see minor imperfections from the paint brush or varnish which are part of the authentic charm of hand painted lettering.

The image is available in 11.7inches x 11.7inches or 30cm x 30cm. It should fit in some 12×12 inch frames but we recommend getting the print first before buying the frame or mount as it may need a custom mount. Available while stocks last.

Joby Carter says:

“This fancy lettering design was quite complex. I drew it out onto a pre-prepared signwriting board to paint. I wanted it to look fun and three dimensional, as if you could grab hold of the letters on the page.

There are versions of this style of lettering with the offset block in my book ‘All the fonts of the fair’. The design itself is something that was created without reference, off the cuff although a lifetime surrounded by retro fairground art and lettering probably helped with the inspiration. One of the joys of being a professional signwriter with your own styles is that you can create bespoke designs. This is very much my personal style of lettering: fun, vibrant and eye catching.

The end result is a beautifully crisp print that I’m really pleased with. Who needs flowers from the petrol station to make your mum feel special when you can gift this instead!”
