LOVE

This limited edition fine art print features hand painted lettering which was drawn and painted by Joby Carter in his White Waltham workshop using traditional signwriting techniques. There are no computers or shortcuts used in Joby’s signwriting workshop!

Once complete, the artwork was then professionally scanned and giclee printed on museum grade fine art paper (310 GSM) using lightfast inks, ready for you to display on your walls at home.

There are just 50 of these LOVE prints available. Each one has been numbered and signed by Joby on the front of the image.

These prints are bright and vibrant reproduction of the original sign. Please be aware that the fine art prints do not feature the aluminium leaf and do not have a metallic finish. This print has not been digitally airbrushed, and you may see minor imperfections from the paint brush or varnish which are part of the authentic charm of hand painted lettering.

The overall paper size is 12×12 inch and will fit in standard 12×12 inch mounts or frames.

Joby Carter says:

“This was an intricate but fun sign to paint and I’ve used a mix of pop art and fairground art styles to create a crisp and pretty design. The letters feature an inset which was inspired by the hand painted alphabets from All The Fonts of The Fair. I’ve enjoyed mixing some of the styles and really going to town on the block and shades.

It was painted over a series of days using signwriters enamel paints and using aluminium leaf with flamboyant over the top and burnt sienna mixed with varnish blended into varnish. Notice that the background has a blend applied to it too. This was done before any of the lettering was created.

The word love can be over egged, but I wanted this to be unique and a lovely thing to give to someone on Valentines day or at any other point in the year.”
